Darn Viruses

I've finally discovered something worse than being sick - watching your kid suffer through being sick. The little girl has a cold, and can't lay down without becoming congested so we've been taking shifts holding her slightly upright so she can get some sleep or laying beside her in her baby chair.
At the moment, she's asleep in that chair and as you can see, looking very cute.
What's really frustrating is that there's really nothing you can give a kid at her age - all you can offer is Vicks BabyRub, acetaminophen and a constant supply of liquids. We've been given the okay for dimetapp, but didn't have the opportunity to purchase any today.
Ah, well...sickness comes with the territory I suppose. And I have to admit, she whines much less than I do when I'm sick.
At least there's no vomit. And I've got Michael Connelly to help pass the time.

Natalie Versus the Chickens
We visited family in Western Maine this weekend, and Natalie got up close and personal with her Aunt Kate's chickens. She was fearless, as usual, but I dread the day when she realizes those fun birds are the same creature she enjoys eating at the dinner table.
