First Time in the Snow

natsnow.jpg

So yesterday we took Nat out in the snow for the first time--bundled in her cute new suit and plopped her on the sled. She promptly keeled over and face-planted in the cold, white stuff. Her reaction was much like what her Daddy thinks of Maine winters :) Not too pleased. Maybe next time she'll be more impressed. She's a Maine girl, so she's gotta get used to it :)

Naptime Rebellion

My daughter's reaction to sleep. She just doesn't know how good she has it right now. I with someone would tell me to sleep every day!

Ahhh...Life is Good

So it's been a busy week, with some stressful moments, but today was productive and now we're all home together as a family. It's raining, and although I've been missing the sun, at the moment it's cozy. Had a great phone call with my far away buddy Amy B, and Nat was totally cute tonight. Now she's peacefully sleeping (a miracle in itself :)), and the hubby and I are just enjoying being in the same room together, blogging side by side and occasionally commenting about it to one another. I'm sipping my Bailey's-spiked cocoa...yummm...in my flannel jammies. After this I'm gonna snuggle down with my good book until my girl wakes up for her late night snack. I love these simple cozy family times--thank you Lord for these moments to recharge.

My book is the latest in the Bodie and Brock Thoene A.D Chronicles, called The Fifth Seal. It's about the events leading up to Christ's birth. I love getting the historical details in the context of fiction that causes me to think more carefully about what Mary and Joseph experienced as people. I'm really excited to see the Nativity movie that's coming out soon. Sounds like a date night to me!

Tomorrow it's the Saturday trip to Wallyworld, particulary noteworthy because on this occasion Nat will be graduating to a front-facing carseat. (sniff, sniff) She's a big girl now :)
Then we'll get the Christmas stuff down from the barn, and I'll finish doing a little cleaning in preparation for getting the tree with our dear group of friends on Sunday. I have this rather OCD process where I need to clean, then methodically take down decor, and replace it with the Christmas decorations. Then I can relax and enjoy choosing, setting up and decorating the tree. Wonder what the girl will think of all of this. It will be so much fun with her this year.

Well, goodnight all and sweet dreams...
