Oh What a Circus

First off, I promise the post title will be the only "Evita" reference.

When South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford first disappeared, the story was weird but not scandalous. Boy, did that ever change.

When I first heard the news, my first thought was 'what kind of jerk visits his mistress on Father's Day weekend?' My second thought was that, obviously, any aspirations he had for higher office are over. Which leaves the GOP facing the nightmare scenario in 2012 (scroll down). Although I have to admit, a few months of Obama have softened me on the idea of President Huck. A little.

Memo to future GOP leaders: if you're going to make the argument that gay marriage threatens the 'sanctity of marriage,' it's best not to violate the sanctity of marriage. Just a thought.

A small point: Gay marriage doesn't threaten the sanctity of marriage--nothing can threaten the sanctity of anything sacred--; it changes the meaning of the word "marriage" to accomodate a sexually perverted demographic. Conservatives should be against state-sanctioned accomodation of such a farcical & destructive exercise as "gay marriage". Christians (the ones who believe marriage is sacred) should be against the homosexualization of society because it is abominable.

One thing's for sure: the '12 GOP primary is going to be about religion. Huckabee will make certain of it with his anti-Mormonism. What's worse: four more of Obama or President Huckabee?

A conservative person should be careful to use such words as "abominable" and "perverse".
it's very judgmental, as a parent I'd rather have two women or men raise my kid then a hateful homophobic who judges everyone.
