Surprise! Obama's a Liar
Turns out unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers was more than just "a guy who lives in [Obama's] neighborhood." Go figure, huh?
The media is going to learn very quickly just how hard it is to regain lost credibility. They didn't vet the now-president-elect at all. Why should we trust them to report fairly on his administration?
Ultimately, I think their over-protectiveness of The One will harm his presidency. The public is going to spend the next four years learning everything the blogosphere has known for months, and many of them are going to be appalled at the character of the man they elected president.

» Ayers Confirms Obama Is A Liar: Yes, Obama And I Are “Family Friends” from Right Voices
Obama was lying to us when he dismissed Ayers as merely “a guy who lives in my neighborhood.” Axelrod and Mayor Daley had told us that, but Ayers is now publically speaking, after having his muzzle removed, and here is his belated confirmation.

"Family Friends" doesn't mean friends, it means our families know each other. We live in the same neighborhood, go to the same bus stop, etc. My family has family friends, we don't know anything about their background, we don't know much about them, other than sharing mild social interactions, and if someone told me the guy up the road was part of a 60s anti-war group, I wouldn't tell my kids to stop talking with them, and I wouldn't make some major neighborhood rift over it.
I'm surprised the republican party (or atleast it's bored support base) hasn't learned an important lesson from the last 4 years, which is, you can't win elections by telling the world what's wrong with the other guy, you win elections (in today's world of slightly more intelligent, informed people) by telling us what's right with you.
That is some seriously weak spin. Their relationship was more than you just described. I'm glad, though, that now that Obama's won the election, you consider us a world of "slightly more intelligent, informed people." I guess all it takes to be transformed from the slackjawed retards you raged against after the past two elections is to do something of which you approve.
Good to know. -S
