Irrational Exuberance?
Early data shows stronger-than-expected Black Friday sales. Either we're not really in the worst economy ever, or people are spending far above their means and will regret their purchases when the next credit card bills come due. (I suspect the latter)
Either way, I didn't contribute to any business profitability this year. This Black Friday, I ate Thanksgiving leftovers while reading "Shogun." How unpatriotic of me.

I don't need and can't afford a big screen TV, nor a fancier phone or a Wii.
Are people who REALLY can't afford it buying so no one will know they can't afford it?
The pictures on the news here were of people buying a ton of stuff, talking about how much money they SAVED by doing it. Yeah, tell yourself that when the credit card bill comes.
