Americans Got Their Guns
Just a short interlude of political news - gun sales booming after the election. Gee...I wonder why? Surely The One wouldn't lie about being a supporter of an individual right as guaranteed by the second amendment, would he?
I think Allah's right, though - an Obama presidency will revitalize the NRA, as it will likely end the complacency of gun owners once they realize just how anti-gun our new president is likely to be. If the Democrats pass another economic stimulus package, I'll be tempted to use a bit of my check to purchase a nice .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol of some sort. My S&W 22A is fun to shoot, but probably not all that useful for home defense.
Of course, the Democratic strategy to win Congressional seats in 2006 (conservative Democrats in southern states) may backfire on The One if he tries to implement any sort of anti-gun agenda. Those Democrats aren't going to threaten their chances at re-election by becoming enemies of the NRA and gun owners.
I'm hoping a lot of conservatives decide to make The One's life a bit more difficult by joining a certain bitter gun-clinging organization that has considerable political clout with those Democrats who want to keep their seats.
