Lazy Blogging
Jury duty, a busy week at work and some demanding daughters at home haven't left me much time for extended blogging lately. I've had the best of intentions, but little time to carry them out. Plus, I had jury duty today and my stint as a grand juror has been very, very depressing. I had no idea people were allegedly committing such crimes in my city.
At this point, I'm both encouraged and pessimistic. My encouragement comes from the fact that even if Barack Obama wins the election, stuff like this is going to come out. The media may be able to drag Obama over the finish line in the short term, but it cannot hide his extensive associations with radicals and terrorist sympathizers. If Obama is elected, the truth will out and the media will suffer as a result. Actually, at this point, I believe the media sill suffer no matter who gets elected.
If McCain wins, the media will have sacrificed its credibility and reputation for nothing. If Obama wins, the media will suffer when a few reporters break through the barrier to expose the extent of the cover-up and reveal the true Barack Obama, associations and all. The media may be in the tank, but never underestimate the desire on the part of reporters to be the next Woodward and Bernstein. The ambition for journalistic immortality will always trump personal ideology.
