Thoughts on the Debate
John McCain: Lane Meyer
Barack Obama: K-12
Thoughts on the coverage? NBC is completely in the tank for Obama. Their pro-Obama spin is simply absurd. I'm glad I watched the actual debate on C-SPAN.
I was very impressed by Jim Lehrer. He was fair and didn't try to make the debate all about him.
Aaaaannd...of course an NRO-nik says McCain lost. They've really tarnished their brand this year, haven't they? Some free advice: your audience is thinking conservatives. Stop ticking them off.
Update - A different NROnik says it was a clear win for McCain because Obama tried to play nice. The undecided focus groups say Obama was the winner, but I've got to be honest - the media has displayed such stunning dishonesty this cycle that I don't trust them to create a fair sample in such situations. Combine that with David Axelrod's gift for astroturfing, and I think we're going to see a lot of this.
I'm not denying the reality of McCain's position at the moment - it's clear he's behind in the polls, but given the media headwind, the economy and the general disdain for the GOP among the voting public, a few points behind is not a bad place to be.

Not even the main headline on our local news web page. Just wrote an entire aticle filled with quotes and said what happened, basically.
But there is an article about people in Maine -- forestry people concerned about conservation when y'all start using wood for heat because they've jacked the price on heating oil. (Oh, excuse me, the price is considerably higher than previously.)
So to me that means now the price of your wood will go sky high.

Sorry -- meant to say about the debate -- call it a tie. Kinda boring, it was all right.
If I didn't already have my mind made up, it wouldn't make me pick either one and it certainly wouldn't make me change my mind.
And someone please tell McCain, ok, ok, we know you're older. Got it. His age is not why I'm voting for him.
