Palin vs. Gibson: The Rumble in the Tundra
The Gibson-Palin interview made me a little nervous...that my younger daughter might be a Democrat. The minute she heard Palin's voice, she started screaming and didn't stop until the interview was over. I caught enough of it on air to note this wasn't Palin at her best. Foreign policy is not her strong suit, but I think she's a quick enough study to improve on this interview.
Charlie Gibson didn't come across all that well. It was pretty clear he wasn't looking for her opinions - he wanted a scalp. Instead of trying to figure out what a candidate would do about a very particular foreign policy situation, why not ask them about the philosophy that guides their views? It would be more interesting and informative.
You've got to wonder what Gibson was thinking, though - the media has been criticized over the last week for its treatment of Palin and his response is to play the condescending old teacher complete with noseglasses?
I do agree with Jim Treacher, though - that editing was worse than an MTV video.
Update - Ridiculous. And the media wonders why people are angry at them.

And I like Charlie Gibson, so it was a tad painful to watch. Kind of -- oh, geez, now what's he going to try to say?
The whole thing was rather flat and I didn't think either one of them came off looking their
best.
And yes, condescending -- VERY much so.
