Bravo, Joe
Just watched Joe Lieberman's speech to the Republican National Convention. It wasn't a particularly exciting speech, but in giving it, Lieberman basically burned every bridge he had to the Democratic party to promote the candidacy of a Republican.
And to think, eight years ago we were running against this guy. Amazing.
Oddly enough, the media doesn't seem as interested in covering the Republican convention as it was in showing every available second of the Democratic one. This past weekend's full frontal assault against Sarah Palin and her family proved just how invested the media are in a GOP defeat. Their behavior has been reprehensible and like nothing I've ever seen.
The next two months are going to be an uphill battle, but I'm oddly optimistic after watching the coverage tonight. Maybe it's because I believe Americans will be more moved by crowds chanting "U-S-A U-S-A" than they were by chants of "O-BA-MA O-BA-MA." The RNC convention's theme is putting country first. Obama's ego would not have allowed such a theme for the Democrats.
Of course, the usual suspects are tossing cold water on the evening.

hey - any chance you can do a slushop of Mrs. Palin over Queen Gorgo (movie:"300") with a tagline of something like "because only Spartan women give birth to real men"?

It's shocking how many feminists, liberals, democrats, etc. are coming out of the woodwork to trash Sarah Palin, and to wonder if she has time to devote to the job of vice president AND be a mother. These are the people who for the last 30 years or so have been telling us that women can do it all! Their hypocritical arguments hold no water.

PS... I loved Joe Lieberman's speech last night. Wish it would get more play in the mainstream media.

Joe is a frightening liberal who, as an Orthodox Jew believes in stopping radical Islamic terrorism. But, he also supports the killing of preborns in the act of being born. He belongs in the Dem party with Obama.
