VP Rumor of the Day: McCain/Lieberman?

I'm guessing this isn't true and is just the latest salvo in Operation Scare Conservatives, McCain's plan to make his eventual pick seem fantastic by comparison.

Don't get me wrong: Lieberman is a brave and principled guy who's not afraid to buck his party - on one issue. On every other political issue imaginable, he's 100% lefty and for that reason, unacceptable. As president of the senate, how would Lieberman vote on issues important to conservatives if there were a tie - with his heart or with the administration? In that situation, I'm guessing Liberman's own maverick tendencies would be subordinated to his personal ideology.

I understand McCain's desire to transform this race, but this isn't the way to do it.

Let's see how to overcome being a doddering old white guy running against a young, cool black guy?

Hey, I've got it! Add ANOTHER old white guy to the ticket!! Dang, why didn't I think of that?

I can't help but tee-hee to myself when I see such innocent naivete about the "Maverick" and his cross-grained Mavericky-ness...He has an (R) after his infamous name; that is all the sheeple need to follow him to the final destruction of Lincoln's party.
