Short Review: The Dark Knight
Whoa. I thought the reviews I read were overstating how good the movie is. I was wrong.
I basically agree with this guy, and especially this paragraph:
[Nolan is] reportedly a pleasant British chap, but he’s got a killer instinct lurking inside, and he loves ripping away the familiar narrative safety nets. In scene after scene, he goes for the jugular (or the eye, or the face, or the leg — this movie’s not for the squeamish, or little kids). I kept waiting for him to pull a punch, even a little, to take the easy way out. He doesn’t. Mostly I just dropped my jaw and thought: Dude, he totally went there.I don't exaggerate when I say this movie deserves to be nominated for best picture. It's that good. And the Joker's magic trick? Unforgettable.

It was a spectacular movie, the entire cast does a great job.
Let's forget that Mr. Ledger died for a second, pretend it never happened... I'd think in that better world he would have won an academy award regardless, he was THAT good.
Once the credits started to roll, slub told me afterwards "wow!" ".. they actually GET batman"
I can't help but agree, Christopher Nolan gave life back into the nipple-suited farce of Batman yore, into some great cinema.
2008 seems to be a great year for movie lovers.

Loved the movie but what stole the ahow was Ledger's joker. This really was a "Joker", not a Batman movie in my opinion.
The magic trick? Brilliant. And funny, in a twisted way.
