Really Outnumbered Now

charlottesm.jpg

Might be a few days until I can get back to the blog. A few hours ago, my wife gave birth to our second child - a daughter. We named her Charlotte Martha. Vitals: weighed 8 lbs, 12 oz, 20 3/4 inches long.

Gonna be busy around here for awhile.

Thanks for the well-wishes, all. Everyone is doing well and so far, big sister has resisted the temptation to eliminate the competition.

Many, many congratulations. I expect a Slushop of the charming Charlotte Martha soon. With a helmet. And a seal.

Drilling produces wonderful results, huh?

Congrats to you and the wife!

Now normally I would say something highly inappropriate like, good looking kid, any idea who the father is?

But this reminds me of a female comedian I saw once, she had a bit where she goes, "I do not have any children..." and then does a guy like impression... "well none that I know of".

I always thought that was funny.
Congrats.

Congratulations, Slu. I take it mother and daughter are doing fine, and you're still nursing the celebratory hangover.

Posted by: steveegg at June 24, 2008 10:06 AM

Well played, sir. Well played.

Posted by: eddiebear at June 24, 2008 10:42 AM

Congratulations! Cute kid. And a normal name! Yay!

Posted by: Scoop11 at June 24, 2008 11:26 AM

Heh. My eldest was 8-12 too. It's good. She'll make all those other skinny babies look sick.

Congrats Slubs.

YAY! Congrats slu! I'm very happy for you guys and I know Natalie is gonna make the best big sister ever!

Not that Natalie could hear that or anything, but I'm putting it out there for her anyways.

Posted by: pajama momma at June 24, 2008 11:43 AM

Outstanding news, Slub! When we had our second, we were saying: "well, we learned a lot on the first one, so it shouldn't be so bad, right?"

Wrong.

Posted by: geoff at June 24, 2008 12:11 PM

Congrats to you both! You better start stocking up on ammo for when the suitors come for those lovely ladies.

Congrats, Slu! That is one cute looking bundle!

Don't call Natalie a baby anymore. She would promptly correct you with a "I am a big girl, not a baby!"

Posted by: Tushar at June 24, 2008 12:55 PM

Very cool (and beautiful), congratulations to all.

Oh, and have a good time not sleeping for a while.

Posted by: A. Weasel at June 24, 2008 12:56 PM

I was gloating over my 9lb. 6oz. heir in the window of the nursery when I noticed an Hispanic guy next to me with tears in his eyes, just glowing. I asked him which baby was his, and he pointed out the biggest G-D baby I ever saw, looked like it was one of those midget circus clowns that dresses up like a big baby.

Twelve lb. two ounce baby girl.

Congratulations on your normal-sized girl. Don't stop now, Maine needs women.

Posted by: spongeworthy at June 24, 2008 01:01 PM

Congratulations, Slu! What a beautiful little princess.

Posted by: Amerpundit at June 24, 2008 01:02 PM
