Saturday Relaxation

I'm not posting this for any particular reason, other than it's my favorite piece of classical music. It's long, but stick with it until at least 8:30 for one of the most beautiful and emotional musical moments you'll ever hear.

If for no other reason, the movement is amazing because it actually makes the oboe sound good.

The reason that oboe sounds so good at the beginning is probably because it's really an English horn.

This is one of my favorite pieces also, except that I prefer the Pepe Romero version. I guess it's the one I'm used to, if that makes sense.

True, but if you've got to scrunch up your face so oddly to play it...it's an oboe to me. Then again, I'm a horn player, so all of those woodwinds just blend into each other.

I've never heard the Pepe Romero version - I'll have to look it up.
