Mike Huckabee Can't Stop Whining
He credits the Club for Growth ads, which he says were paid for by Mitt Romney donors, for damaging him with conservative voters in South Carolina. An economic conservative?"It was very frustrating to be presented as an economic liberal, because I have a very different record, as an economic conservative," Mr. Huckabee says.
"Had Fred Thompson not been in the race, we would have won South Carolina by ten points," says Mr. Huckabee. "His and Romney's presence split the conservative vote three ways, and we barely squeaked under McCain, you know, and it's just the way it is. That's not sour grapes. It's just life."
Um...not so much. I love his 'if it hadn't been for that pesky Thompson..." line. Maybe I'll use it myself. If it hadn't been for that pesky 'bad at math and science' thing, I could have been an engineer or a doctor. Politics has a weird quirk - you actually have to make a case for why people should vote for you and not the other guy. If they vote for the other guy, it's not the candidate's fault - it's that you didn't make your case well enough.
I also love his continued attacks on Mitt Romney - he has no proof whatsoever for his accusations against the Club for Growth, but he throws them out there anyway while patting himself on the back for being the last guy standing against the presumptive nominee. I encourage you to read the article to bask in the many excuses Huckabee employs to explain his loss.
You want to know the real reason you lost, Mike? You had no appeal outside of the evangelical voters who pulled the lever for you. The only reason you got as far as you did was identity politics - you're like the Republican Barack Obama with extra whine. You were simply a repository for voter frustration and discontent. That's not a base.
Now, if you don't mind, just go away. (H/t: HA)

That's just priceless. Mike? An economic conservative? Ha! I couldn't agree more with your sentiments.

Huck's whining and crying qualifies him to join the Democrats. And from the tax hikes he signed into law in Arkansas, he might as well join their party. He'd be right at home.
