Late Surge to Hillary?

Allah's happy. As for me?

Nooooooooooo!

“One thing we’re hearing that we really didn’t expect is people going and voting in the Democratic primary for Hillary Clinton,” Markum said. “They come up to me and they say McCain can beat Hillary, but he can’t beat Obama. It’s fueled by guys like Rush Limbaugh, by Ann Coulter [Ann Coulter? — ed.], who’re telling them to keep Hillary in this race, and that trickles down to Republicans going into those voting booths who can’t vote in our election. These were some voters we were counting on, so that’s thrown a bit of a kink in our extrapolations.”
I know that she may be easier to beat in the general election, but what if she isn't?

Allah Throws Down - Okay, maybe not 'throws down,' but he does present an interesting question - "How could she be worse than Obama? Even if she wins we’ve at least got a shot at triangulating her towards our side. What about His Holiness?"

My fear is that if the Clintons return to office, they won't be in the mood to triangulate. Plus, I just don't want to return them to power. A third Clinton term would be payback time for all of the 'wrongs' done them in the 90s. Although in my heart of hearts, I have to admit that Clinton would probably be better on policy than Obama, but not by much.

Of course, if Hillary is nominated, there's a chance she'd alienate enough Democratic voters in the process of winning to lose her the general. Which, of course, would be awesome.

Watching Obama deal with negative press, though, makes me wonder about his 'inevitability' in the general election. It seems the man of hope has some skeletons in the closet he doesn't want to talk about.

Here's how I see it, with Hillary, the odds are better of us winning, and even if we lose, the odds of a Democrat version of a Reagan landslide under Hillary is nil. Under Obama? That potential exists, and it would probably take at least 12 years to get back to where we are NOW in Congress, if we were lucky.

She'll be better for us than McCain, that's what if.

See, here's the thing: we might not want Hil to win the nomination, but we want her to win tomorrow, because McCain really cannot afford to have Barack Obama start putting up general election advertising on the 5th. We need this fight to keep going.

Hmph, it figures that the local press finally decides to ask Obama some tough questions. They certainly weren't interested in any of that when he was running for the Senate.
