McCain the Nominee

Looks as though The Maverick™ cleaned house. I guess we're supposed to rally around the flag now?

That might take some doing.

I hope John McCain has a mind-blowing speech planned for CPAC. He's going to need it. If McCain wants to win over conservatives, CPAC would be a good place to start. A short speech followed by an open question-and-answer time would be ideal, from a PR standpoint. Many of us are willing to vote for McCain - his challenge is going to be firing up a base he's reveled in annoying.

A good start would be a promise not to sign a McCain/Kennedy-like bill as president.

Related, Sorta - Some Florida voters are stupid. We're talking weapons-grade ignorance of current events. Don't these folks watch the news?

As much as I would like to say that McCain will actually reach out at CPAC, I strongly believe his speech will be more along the lines of, "BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

McCain IMO disqualified himself to be the GOP nominee when he was negotiating to cross the aisle, before Jeffords beat him to the punch. It makes any appeals he or his supporters might make to rally behind him "for the sake of party unity" a sick joke.
