Counting his Chickens

The Maverick™ is doing well and looks to have a good day tomorrow. Still, I think acting like the presumptive nominee is a bit premature at this point.

Around the blogosphere, McCain supporters are already starting to urge conservatives to unify behind the nominee after tomorrow's vote. Personally, I would like to see McCain make the first move. This isn't out of some personal pique, but because conservatives have real, substantive policy disagreements with McCain and his legislative record.

Given that record, and his reputation for treating those who disagree with him disdainfully, McCain has a lot of work to do between now and the general election, should he get the nomination.
