Random Campaign News
A few links, many from Hot Air - hey, they've got the best campaign coverage right now.
Hillary Clinton scrapes the bottom of the barrel. If I ever run for office, I fully expect one of my poems - "The Spooky Pumpkin" - to be used against me.
Liberal groups are going negative against Clinton.
Huckabee continues to climb the polls, but there may be bad news on the horizon. Plus, being a front-runner has its shortcomings. People are actually starting to question his record as governor. Imagine that.
Mitt Romney is going to give a speech on Mormonism. My guess is that the speech will be a "we're more alike than we are different" sort of thing, aimed at evangelical voters. David Frum says "most Americans" consider Mormon beliefs "blatantly false." I think he's overstating his case. I would say that of most evangelicals, perhaps, but I would wager when most people think of Mormon faith, they think of sickly sweet television commercials and a choir singing the “Hallelujah chorus.” Or maybe the Osmonds.
Anti-abortion groups are split between Mike Huckabee and Fred Thompson. The lackadaisical Thompson campaign has been one of the biggest surprises for me this election. I wanted to support him, but he's given me little reason to do so. In fact, I find myself growing increasingly irritated with Thompson supporters who keep saying his very low-key campaign is part of his overall plan. I have the feeling they'll even say that when he gives his concession speech.

If you could average the energy of the Ron Paul campaign and the Fred Thompson campaign, both candidates would be much stronger.

Right said, geoff.
Know how to find the Ron Paul supporter in any room? He'll tell you.
