Why the WGA is Striking - Updated
You know, the Writers Guild has a point. The networks are making money from the words of writers, and they're unwilling to pay them for it. Speaking as a writer, that's just not right.
Sure, I'll miss the shows I enjoy. But I think the guild's demands are reasonable, considering how much money these guys are making from streaming video online.
Update - Mark Harris, writing in Entertainment Weekly, looks at the issues that led to this strike.

I'm not a union supporter by a long shot, but I support the WGA. Hollywood accounting procedures are insane, don't forget that Peter Jackson had to go after New Line for hiding something like $400 million in revenue. Admittedly, most of what I've read has been pro-union on this, but I do not think the demands are unreasonable.
