Ahhh...

Today's moment of Zen? Watching two cellphone users walk out of a restaurant in a self-important huff after being told of the establishment's no cellphone rule.

Sorry, guys...not everyone wants to hear other people bark into gadgets while eating lunch.

Unless someone is being loud/unruly/disruptive, I don't get the big deal. How is it different from two people having a conversation?

Overall, I think people tend to talk more loudly into cell phones than they do in a face-to-face conversation. Plus, the restaurant in question has "family style" seating, so there's a good chance you're going to be sitting right next to someone who may decide to use a cell phone.

Proprietor's choice, but I would never patronize a restaurant that had that rule.

Walked out in a "self-important huff"? Oh, that makes it even more delicious and enjoyable.

-- yes, I concur 110%, they do indeed talk more loudly into a cell phone than in person.

I’d come to accede with you here. Which is not something I typically do! I enjoy reading a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to speak my mind!
