Wow
My parents told me to check YouTube for a video of a guy named Paul Potts, the winner of "Britain's Got Talent." In this clip, he sings "Nessun Dorma" by Puccini.
This is definitely a case of not judging a book by its cover. This guy's got some pipes.

He's amazing. His cd is out in the UK and was at number 1 for three weeks. That's number 1 on the combined charts, not the classical. It's at number 1 in New Zealand and a few other places as well, I believe.
I absolutely love the point in this where you can see Simon look up and think "Bloody hell I'm going to make a mint off him".

You are WAY behind the curve on this slub, I figured you would have caught on it earlier.
I sent this link to my mother, not the most cultured chick (look at her son) but a very smart broad, and she cried.
that vid is so friggen inspirational, it's startling, and Simon sets it out quite accurately, with his "That's what this is about. One minute a guys selling cell phones and the next he's doing that, it's amazing." I think is the approximate quote.
Yeah, that cat is awesome, I think John at Average Gay Joe has a more complete clip embedded, but I don't feel like digging for it, also John went all "operay" in his analysis (heh a gay guy doing anything with "anal" in it's spelling makes me laugh, thats just how guy I am)

I had seen this one a while ago, but never really kept tabs on the U.K. show. AWESOME to know that this humble, unassuming man won.
