This Day in History
Selected events of August 31:
1997 - Princess Diana dies
1963 - Walter Cronkite began his stint as anchor of the "CBS Evening News."
1899 - Stanley Steamer reaches Mt. Washington summit
1897- Edison patents the Kinetograph
1889 - Jack the Ripper claims first victim
1939- Germany prepares for invasion of Poland
And in 1972, all 10 lbs., 15 oz. of me came kicking and screaming into the world. I share a birthday with Chris Tucker, Debbie Gibson, Richard Gere, Van Morrison, Itzhak Perlman and the Roman emperors Commodus and Caligula. I have no elaborate plans for the day - I'm going to spend it with my family, relaxing.
I figure that's the best way to ignore the fact I'm a year closer to death.
Ahhh... - A good birthday. I gots me some presents and had a birthday dinner of homemade fried chicken with my family. This weekend, I get another birthday party of sorts - a friend and I have our birthdays close to one another so we decided to throw a joint party with friends. We're calling it the Great Beast Feast, since we've got, I kid you not, 30 pounds of meat to grill.
We're going to grill until something goes extinct.

Look at it from a postive perspective. You are one year closer to getting the coveted senior discount at Denny's.
Good times, good times.

Belated Birthday wishes, Slub.
So you have crossed the rubicon of 35. Getting any wrinklier? I am just a year behind, btw. :(
