"Peace Mom" Coming to Maine
Might be time to do some old-fashioned reporting.
KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine - Anti-war activists will hold what’s billed as the summer’s largest peace demonstration later this month but the subject of the demonstrators’ ire — President Bush — will be elsewhere.Now this is a conundrum. I like some of the Indigo Girls' music, but they're bound to be in their annoying ultra-political mode. "Closer to Fine" and "Hey Jesus" are great songs. "Hey, Mr. President" and "Faye Tucker?" Not so much.Bush is staying at the family estate at Walker’s Point this weekend for a relative’s wedding, but he won’t be around on the weekend of the march and rally featuring "Peace Mom" Cindy Sheehan and music by the Indigo Girls.
Still, if I've got the time I may show up just to send a dispatch or get a column idea.
