That's Doctor Brian May to You...Almost

The former Queen guitarist is a Ph.D. candidate in astronomy. Who knew?

Queen guitarist Brian May has completed his thesis for a PhD in astronomy - more than 30 years after he started the academic paper.

The We Will Rock You star, 59, earned a physics degree from London's prestigious university Imperial College in the 1970s, but abandoned his studies for a doctorate in favour of a music career.

Wow. Brian May is 59.

I'm not an American Idol watcher, but I did watch a little bit of "Queen" night, just to see him play again. He still knows his way around a Les Paul.
