Noooooooo...!
One of my favorite Democratic Senators of all time is Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York. So this really makes me sad - his office number is on the list of numbers that called a notorious D.C. madam.
Personally, I'm hoping it was a staffer.
Still, it's kind of depressing to think about how many politicians are nervous about what's on that list.

Oh, it must have been a staffer!
The man who coined the term, "Defining deviancy down" would never do that!
Besides, he was too old.......wasn't he?

Have a meme to take your mind off our politicians' brothel troubles:

i dunno... i have to doubt it was him.
certainly there's a precedent for impressive, honorable, good-seeming people to turn out to have pretty rotten personal lives.
but (even though i'm too young to remember him directly) he was simply one of the most impressive politicians i've ever known of/read about, in the mold of older thinker-politicians, the kind of which have been thin on the ground since oh, the late 18th c..
even though i disagree with many of the positions, noone can say (i certainly can't) that he embodied the very best characteristics of that longdead animal, the "loyal opposition."
i don't think it was him. it must have been a staffer.

I liked Moynihan also. He was thoughtful and decent.

Right after Christmas? Staffer, most likely.
