Cheap Entertainment
Sure, expensive Hollywood movies are great, but there's nothing funnier than watching a squirrel try to climb a 4" diameter PVC pipe that we put over the birdfeeder stand to keep them from climbing up and eating the birdseed.
Comedy gold.

Joe's right. I've got to admire their resourcefulness. I've got 5 hanging around my feeder all the time, and they usually don't go away hungry. Although during a storm last week, I laughed my ass off watching them climb partway up the wet pole, and then slide back down like furry little firemen.
The pvc is a good idea, but I'll have to move the feeder out of leaping distance from trees, deck etc. Judging by my past observations of the elusive limb-leaper, that should be about 12ft.
