The Dangers of Power

It's been said that power corrupts. My friend Dan discovered that power can also turn someone into a blathering moron.

At some point in the conversation, I simply said, “I think in a free country, a person should be able to buy a piece of land, build a store and try to make a buck.”

His response was to ask me if I’m an anarchist.

“That’s your question?” I said. “Am I an anarchist?”

He was furious.
