Hate-Worshippers - BUMPED
This is vile.
"WBC will preach at the funerals of the Virginia Tech students killed on campus during a shooting rampage April 16, 2007. You describe this as monumental horror, but you know nothing of horror -- yet. Your bloody tyrant Bush says he is 'horrified' by it all. You know nothing of horror -- yet. Your true horror is coming. 'They shall also gird themselves with sackloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads' (Eze. 7:18).Those words appear on a site I will not link - that of the Westboro "Baptist Church." Fred Phelps and his band of haters are planning to disrupt the funerals of those murdered at Virginia Tech. (H/T: Ace)Why did this happen, you ask? It's simple. Your military chose to shoot at the servants of God today, and all they got for their effort was terror. Then, the LORD your God sent a crazed madman to shoot at your children. Was God asleep while this took place? Was He on vacation? Of course not. He willed this to happen to punish you for assailing His servants."
Words are inadequate to describe the amount of contempt I feel toward Phelps and his clan. He and his disgusting followers are false prophets of the worst sort - they claim to speak for God, but only speak from their own diseased hearts.
God has something to say about those who presume to speak in His name in the Old Testament, and he reiterated it in the New. It should be obvious by now that Fred Phelps does not speak for God, and that his "church" is nothing more than a hate cult whose doctrine is shaped by the prejudices of its leaders.
It's at times like this that I'm truly grateful for men such as Mark Roberts, whose posts on this tragedy reflect the heart of a man who loves God. I encourage you to visit his site.
UPDATE - Well, lucky me.
The haters themselves have found my site, and linked it. In addition, they created a clever little code that is sending me all the mail they get. Wonderful.
I've closed comments on this thread for now and since those emails were sent to a public site without the consent of the writers, I've deleted those comments from the thread. In addition, I got to do something that gave me great joy.
"brid1611kjv@bellsouth.net" is now banned from the site.
UPDATE II - Just for fun, here is some background on the anti-church that calls itself Westboro "Baptist."

I suppose I am the last blogger to opine about the events that happened on the Virginia Tech campus this week. I haven't had much to say on it ... it is a horrific event of nightmare proportions. I have been reading what others write - about g... [Read More]

A buddy of mine and I were speculating that maybe the reason "God is killing our soldiers and the Virginia Tech students" is not because we tolerate homosexuals but because we haven't burned WBC to the ground yet.

I think God has something much more eternal in mind for those people.

Slublog - and I hope our wildest fantasies about what that could be don't even come close to the reality...
The WBC are such hate filled, vile, charlatans - I hope the Patriot Riders "do their thing" and go to the VA Tech funerals - as many as they can - to protect the families.

Kris, I'm a member of the PGR (Massachusetts). I haven't looked at the forum in a while (I get local alerts via email), but I'll look when I get home tonight. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there were already plans formed for PGR members in Virginia.

The pit of hell is gaping wide for Phelps and his 'church.'
Matt 7:21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' 23And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'

Farmer Joe - I hope you are right. The PGR is one of the most amazing organizations I've ever seen. Thank you for what you guys do.

Farmer Joe, I echo what Kris says. Thank you.

from a fellow London English speaking person across the pond (ie Great Britain), me and my fellow country kin would like to give our sympathy those familes around the united states who not only lost loved ones to such a sense'less barbaric violent act... but more impotantly to the courage of those from the state of Virgina. Who having to not only deal with such an unspeakable evil ocurring in their own land, but also with the invasion of vomit hate from the so-called christian cult known as the 'West'Boro Baptist Church'. For it is at times like THIS that will test all of Virgina's soul, the more so.
