Male Weepies
Dave at Garfield Ridge has a good post on movies that make men cry.
I'm not the crying type, so it takes a lot for a movie to fire up the waterworks. There are a few that have done it, though.
The end of Finding Nemo is a big one. The scene where Marlin is holding Nemo, remembers him as a baby fish, then says "It's okay. Daddy's here. Daddy's got you." Gets me choked up every time. Especially now that I'm a dad.
It's not technically a movie, but the Sullivan Ballou letter at the end of the first episode of The Civil War is a beautiful piece of writing that puts a lump in my throat.
The end of The Return of the King, when Aragorn tells the hobbits that "they bow to no one" is pretty moving, as well.
It goes without saying, though, that the most tear-inducing moment in cinema is when Shaun is forced to shoot his mother in Shaun of the Dead.

Just finished watching Hotel Rwanda. Was really close!

The end of the movie Saving Private Ryan where John Ryan asks his wife to tell him that he was a good man kinda choked me up.
Lessee, what else... when John Lovell's son asked him in Apollo 13 if "they fixed the door" on the CM.
I don't know. I never used to cry about anything. Then I had daughters. Now I'm a big sap, so I don't know if I'm a good judge of this sorta thing.

Scene in Dumbo where Dumbo's mother reaches her trunk through the bars on the trailer where she is being held to cradle and rock Dumbo. I'm 67 now. I cried when I first saw this as a child of 7. The thought of it still puts a lump in my throat. Damned elephants always getting themselves captured and taken out of their idylic African homeland.

I have to chime in on the Monster's Inc. line. Opening the door and hearing the "KITTY!" line always get's me a little misty.
"Titanic": What got me was the priest saying last rights as people clung to his legs. Catch in my breath at that one.
"Treasure Planet", at one of the final scenes, when when the Cyborg and Jim Hawkins are bonding as the pirate sales away in his skiff. Good father-son bonding sniffle there.
And "Pay It Forward," when the mom opens the door and sees all the cars and candles, and realizes how much impact her son really had. For some reason hit me hard first time I watched it.

I've always been really emotional naturally, probably more than is societally acceptable for a guy to be (even today), so needless to say there's many a song, movie or thing that's made me "choky" as I call it. :-)
WAY too many to list, but the most recent one was just late last night; I watched the Twilight Zone episode Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, and found it got me kinda misty. Sticking in my head like such things usually do. :-) A spy is about to be hanged and on the verge of death when he has a flashback vision, thinks he's escaped, and reaches home and is about to hug his wife when..... :-) Very bittersweet. That's my 2 cents guys! :-)
