What would Richard Land say?
Religious social conservatives are in a bind this year - all of the Republican frontrunners have some issue - John McCain, Rudy Giuliani and Newt Gingrich are all divorced and Mitt Romney wears special underwear.
Gonna be a long campaign season...

...so was Reagan. And I wonder how much of a difficulty Romney's religion really presents. HIs dad was elected twice as governor of Michigan, back in the 60s no less. So there is some precedent for people setting that issue aside.

I was gonna say it didn't bother us about Reagan.
This whole "divorced" tactic is just another mudball from Democrats who think we're worse than we really are. Eff em.

In the minds of the Dems (if you are willing to suspend disbelief for a minute) they imagine everyone on the Right as being utterly intolerant and unforgiving. It could be our secret weapon. Bush got by on being "misunderestimated" for a long while.
