"Through Rain, Sleet or Snow?"
BWA HA HA!
I officially hate my mail carrier. We got some snow last week, and some wind since. That wind blew a treacherous half-inch or so of snow onto some spots of my sidewalk. I can only imagine the shock and terror the mailman felt upon seeing the veritable avalanche between him and my mailbox. I am certain he tried to swallow his fears and brave the conditions in order to deliver our mail and fulfill his mission.
How disappointed he must have been when, halfway to the door, it was all just too much to take and he had to turn back. The shame must have been overwhelming.
It's a good thing these guys have a union to protect them from thoughtless people like me who put their lives in peril.
UPDATE - Was the post office falsely accused? I called to ask why I didn't get my mail and got a call today - they said the regular guy was "on vacation." And there was no "I'm scared of the snow so come pick up your mail at the post office" card in the mailbox. Apologies to the USPS, but for the record, my mail guy is still a wimp, as he's refused to deliver the mail twice because of "excessive snow."
Given that fact, it's ironic that the guy who called today said our regular carrier was going ice fishing for his vacation.

I know for a fact that the path was shoveled after the storm because I helped do it. Most mail carriers are great and really care about their customers but some will do anything that reflects badly on the USPS.

Unfortunately, this guy isn't like the one from the apartment. That guy would deliver the mail under any conditions.
The guy we have is just lazy.

It could be worse. Our street has two different mailmen, neither of which know the route very well. Sometimes they come at noon, sometimes they don't show up until 4:30. Also, the city has a law that new residents must locate their mailbox on one side of the street, but there's a grandfather clause so the mailman has to go up and down both sides. Ridiculous.

I used to have the laziest mailman in the world. He never got out of his truck from the time he left the post office until he got back in th afternoon. If I got a package, he would just drop it in the bushes around the base of the mailbox. One year, at Christmas, I was expecting some boxes fom my mom. The day they came, it was raining. Instead of leaving them, he left me a slip to get them at the pst office on the next day. Of course, the next day was the last working day before Christmas, so if I didn't get them then, I would have to wait until after the holiday. I was forced to go and stand in line at the post office to get package that the fat f*** could have left at my house if he had just gotten out of the truck.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It's very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
