Blowin' in the Wind

collinsvane.jpg

Senators Collins and Snowe vote against the president on the war in Iraq. I'm reaching Allahpundit levels of pessimism on this war, but still believe that removing Saddam Hussein from power was a good thing. So did Collins and Snowe at one time.

Seems their principles only lasted as long as the good poll numbers for the president and the war. If nothing else, this will give me some consolation when I write in the name of a friend instead of voting for Collins next year. There is now no reason whatsoever for conservatives to vote for her - she's bad on the war, pro-abortion, anti-tax cut and won't vote to confirm good judges.

What's most amazing is her belief that banking hard left on the war will somehow endear her to the hyper-partisan liberals in the Maine Democratic party who wouldn't vote for Bill Clinton if he were running as a Republican.
