State of the Union: Catch the Fever!
Let's get this out of the way. I'm not going to watch it. I hate the State of the Union and all of the importance given it by politicians and the media.
Dean Barnett feels the same way, and has written a FAQ for tonight's speech.
Ace has excerpts from tonight's speech. A sample:
“Some in this Chamber are new to the House and Senate – and I congratulate the Democratic majority. Congress has changed, but our responsibilities have not…We are not the first to come here with government divided and uncertainty in the air. Like many before us, we can work through our differences, and achieve big things for the American people.”Meh.
Ace isn't live-blogging it, either. I think it's safe to say that conservatives are no longer all that enthused about the president.
Just turned the television back on and Bush is still talking.
But hey! Frasier's on.
BTW, if you care, the speech text is here.
Vodkapundit comes out of his semi-sabbatical to drunkblog the festivities.
UPDATE - Jennifer Loven is a hack.
"Presidential Candidate" Tom Tancredo, as usual, is desperate for headlines. Can't really blame the guy, I guess. He's got to do something to poll above one percent.

I think it's safe to say he never really gave a rat's ass about a lot of conservative issues and I'd bet that he's frankly glad he doesn't even have to pay lip service to them anymore. I dread the next two years as he tries his "New Tone" strategy again and the laws the Demonrat congress is going to ram through its laxity and the apparently fatal allergy he has to his veto pen.
I dread even more the next Dimocrap president that GWB and the next crop of incredibly awful Republican candidates are going to usher in.
