The Face of Righteous Indignation

Rick Moran at Right Wing Nut House works up a head of steam over Representative Virgil Goode's letter. I can't blame him. Here's a sample of the letter:

The Ten Commandments and "In God We Trust" are on the wall in my office. A Muslim student came by the office and asked why I did not have anything on my wall about the Koran. My response was clear, "As long as I have the honor of representing the citizens of the 5th District of Virginia in the United States House of Representatives, The Koran is not going to be on the wall of my office." Thank you again for your email and thoughts.
You almost have to give the guy credit for such an absurd non sequitur. What does being a representative from Virgina have to do with disagreement with the Koran? And what does "In God We Trust" have to do with Christianity? That phrase isn't found in the Bible.

As long as someone agrees to uphold the Constitution, I don't care what holy book they use for their oath. My concerns about Ellison come not from his religion, but from his affiliation with CAIR, an organization that at times has been too much of an apologist for Islamic extremism. (h/t: Allah)

Maybe it's because the Koran has nothing similar to the Ten Commandments?

But I agree, it is a stupid non-sequiter.

They really don't want a few selected quotes from the Koran (or Quarn) up. Quoting how the Koran commands the infidels be dealt with would blow away any claim that Islam is a "religion of peace".
