Veteran's Day, Simpsons-Style
The Simpsons decides to celebrate Veteran's Day by making members of the military look like buffoons. Classy. I watched a few minutes of it, got bored, and put Galaxy Quest into the DVD player. That movie still cracks me up.
[Fred tries to digitize the pig-lizard with disastrous results]
Jason Nesmith: What? What was that?
Alexander Dane: Uh, nothing.
Jason Nesmith: I heard some squealing or something.
Gwen DeMarco: Oh, no. Everything's fine.
Teb: But the animal is inside out.
Jason Nesmith: I heard that! It turned inside out?
[the pig-lizard explodes]
Teb: And it exploded.
Heh.
For me, the Simpsons stopped being funny a few years ago. I don't care if a show is political, as long as it entertains. The Simpsons stopped bringing the funny, so I stopped watching. We're in a good time for tv, so I think unless the show improves, people will find other things to watch.

Yeah, I've come to the same conclusion. The halloween special this year was particularly craptacular too. Any predictions on how the big-screen movie will do?

I think they waited too long to make the movie. The best time would have been a few seasons ago, when the show was still funny. When I watch a half-hour sitcom, I usually give it ten minutes or so to make me laugh. If I don't laugh within ten minutes, why bother?
The Simpsons movie will have to be spectacular to win back the fans like me, who have left the show because of its recent low quality.
