More Post-Election Thoughts
Dean Barnett has written an outstanding essay on where we go from here. Ace is tallying up the winners and losers and Mary Katharine is looking to the future.
I mentioned this at Hot Air, but overall, I’ve been impressed with the way Republicans have handled this. No calls for unneeded recounts or legal action, no threats to take to the streets. Just some good old fashioned anger and some looking forward to the fights to come. Someone in that thread asked what would Ronald Reagan do?
I think he'd grin, stand up and shake the dust off and then continue to fight. This is no time to get defeatist.

I agree. Keep on fighting.
Unfortunately, Bush sounded more like Ford or Carter than Reagan today. He sounded whipped. Cowed. I emailed the White House with my one word message. Fight!
Waving the white flag the day after the elections, and tossing your SecDef under the bus just puts more blood in the water. Make no mistake, they smell fear and weakness. It makes them horny.

Yeah, what rickinstl said. What's worse is Bush actually sounded cheered at the prospect of working with the Dims on the illegal immigration issue. Open wide, amnesty is about to be rammed down our throats. Hell, Bush may well decide that for these last two years he's gonna let his liberal freak flag fly. You know - so he can finally change the tone in Washington.
