Reason for Optimism? Not Really. But Don't Panic, Either
Ned Lamont needs to get out more. That link is from TKS at National Review, who also has a very good column from 1994 to put the current Republican situation into perspective.
There are rumors of a massive get out the vote effort on the GOP side. It sounds as though Republicans are getting angry and that anger is motivating them to nearly the same level of energy that existed in 2004.
I think things like this are starting to backfire. Republicans are starting to see just how mean-spirited and nasty the left really is when threatened.
I'm not yet entirely optimistic about GOP chances next month, but the latest news has certainly made my pessimism more nuanced. I still don't think we'll keep control of the House, but I think near-parity is possible.
