Vegetables are Evil

First spinach, now lettuce.

SAN FRANCISCO - Less than a week after the Food and Drug Administration lifted its warning on fresh spinach grown in California's Salinas Valley, a popular brand of lettuce grown there was recalled Sunday over concerns about E. coli contamination.

The lettuce does not appear to have caused any illnesses, the president of Salinas-based Nunes Co. Inc. said.

The lettuce scare comes amid other federal warnings that some brands of spinach, bottled carrot juice and recent shipments of beef could cause grave health risks — including paralysis, respiratory failure and death.

Your vegetables are trying to kill you. The only answer, obviously, is more fast food.

I was working on a buddies house a couple years ago - he lives near Chico Ca.- we got to talking about his old home town of Salinas.

He told me that old farms in the Salinas area are being bought out and the ranch homes and barns split off from the rest of the farming acreage. The buyers are then stripping out the barn interiors/paddocks/hay lofts and putting in barrack style bunk beds along with a minimal amount of florescent lighting.

The owners then bus in illegal farm workers and house them in the barns. These barns have no sewer/sceptic systems so the farm laborers are told to dig pit style outhouses to defecate in and slit trenches for urination.

My buddy thinks that the irrigation systems in the Salinas area have become tainted from improper sanitation practices.

From what I gathered - most of these laborers are nothing more than indentured servants who end up even more in debt over "company" style stores that sell them drugs, booze, food and whores.
