Like a Rock
“Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”: As ratings sink, week by week, for this Aaron Sorkin series set behind the scenes of a “Saturday Night Live"-like comedy program, you have to wonder how long NBC will stick with this slick, expensive, and—given the subject matter—surprisingly humorless drama.I'm not sure when I went from disappointed Sorkin fan to actively hating this show, but I think it has something to do with the parade of television critics who tell me I should like this show because it's "intelligent." I guess that means those of us who don't like it are slack-jawed yokels who'd rather watch "Hee Haw" and chuckle between swigs of cheap beer.Lesson learned: Perhaps playwright and “West Wing” creator Sorkin, who also struck out with his TV-studio-workplace dramedy “Sports Night,” should stick to theater or politics.
I'm actually in Sorkin's demographic. I'm between the ages of 18 and 35 (barely), educated and semi-middle class. But this is simply an unlikeable show full of characters with whom I don't want to spend a lot of time. Honestly, watching this fail gives me faith that Hollywood can't always set the agenda.
Now, "Heroes" on the other hand...the latest episode was just great.
UPDATE - Guess I'm not the only defector.

I think Sorkin's ping-pong dialogue, which I found entertaining at the beginning of Sports Night, palls after half a season. Not to mention his 1D politics.
