True Face of the "Truthers"
John at Wuzzadem, blogging at ace's, has a nice screed against the "9/11 Truthers" who claim the attacks of September 11 were a conspiracy by the Bush administration so they could...do nefarious things. They haven't exactly thought that one out. But there's just got to be some sort of political gain, right?
Part of John's post:
These people are beneath contempt. Actually, they're underneath whatever it is that's beneath contempt. Are they completely brain dead? No, I don't think so.Read the whole thing, especially the conversation between a police officer who was actually at the World Trade Center during the attacks and the snotnosed punk who produced the 9/11 conspiracy film.Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of drooling idiots who would be eating their pocket lint if they weren't busy handing out hand-drawn 9-11 conspiracy fliers, but Avery and Rowe are just a couple of scumbags who think there's some kind of liberal Utopia just around the corner.
I don't know what's more disturbing - that people actually believe this sort of thing, or that these guys are simple opportunists who are using this issue to make some money. Neither option is all that good.
