Thoroughly Discredited
Allah has tbe best rundown of the latest blogswarm, which has resulted in Reuters removing the photo and "firing" the stringer who took it.
The real question is - will this change the way Reuters purchases photos from freelance photographers, and will more care be given to ensure that the news organization is printing facts, not propaganda?
Ace asks a great question in this post:
The media always seems outraged at Bush's "staging" of actual, well, staged political events.Seriously. How frickin' long did we hear about Bush's stupid plastic turkey? The media whined about that little "scandal" for days, and yet never shows any interest in the all-too-conveniently dramatic photos taken by its stringers in Lebanon. Why are they so uninterested in foreign stringers staging pictures for Hezbollah?
