Karl Rove is Smiling
You know what issue really fires up the Republican base?
Judicial activism. Whenever a judge makes a ruling that just seems more ideological than based on the constitution or on precedent, conservatives just go crazy. When the judge in question was appointed by a poorly-regarded ex-president and uses faulty judicial reasoning to make her conclusions?
Well, that's just a perfect storm of conservative outrage waiting to happen. And conservative outrage is worth at least two, three points on election day.
Maybe my headline is inaccurate. Rove isn't just smiling tonight. He's throwing back his head in manaical laughter, opening the good champagne and looking forward to election day.
Thank you, Judge Taylor. You have written a brief so paltry that it makes critics of the NSA wiretapping cringe.
