It's Official: Middle East War is Bush's Fault

I understand that it takes a certain amount of narcissism to run for president, but John Kerry has got to learn to keep his in check.

U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D- Mass., who was in town Sunday to help Gov. Jennifer Granholm campaign for her re-election bid, took time to take a jab at the Bush administration for its lack of leadership in the Israeli-Lebanon conflict.

"If I was president, this wouldn't have happened," said Kerry during a noon stop at Honest John's bar and grill in Detroit's Cass Corridor.

Bush has been so concentrated on the war in Iraq that other Middle East tension arose as a result, he said.

"The president has been so absent on diplomacy when it comes to issues affecting the Middle East," Kerry said. "We're going to have a lot of ground to make up (in 2008) because of it."

Diplomacy is such a useful word, and in the mouths of Democrats, it makes a wonderful smokescreen that party can use to obscure their lack of ideas. Let's face it, there's nothing anyone from either party can actually do right now. Hezbollah and Hamas just pushed Israel too far, and they are now suffering the consequences that occur when you commit acts of war against a sovereign nation.

John Kerry knows this, but is cynical and partisan enough to use the opportunity of the war to attack the Bush administration. That Kerry sees war and suffering as just another political weapon says quite a bit about his character, and also provides some of us with yet another opportunity to be thankful for his defeat in the last election.

Peace in the Middle East requires a miracle. He couldn't perform the smaller one of getting elected.

I find it inexcusable and highly unprofessional that you took his remarks out of context like that.

I'm sure he went on with a substantive, subtly nuanced, well-crafted plan to deal with the problem considering all eventualities and...

No?

He didn't?

Huh!

Just the "wouldna happened if I were king" thing? You're sure?

What a complete tool.
