How to Get Fired...

...in two weeks or less.

Use a racial slur, on-air.

A radio personality at 550 KTRS was fired on the spot this morning after using the word “coon” on the air in a conversation about Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Dave Lenihan was dismissed after what he called an inadvertent slip of the tongue. Within 20 minutes, station CEO Tim Dorsey apologized on the air to listeners and announced that Lenihan, who had been with the station for less than two weeks, had been let go.

Sorry, but how stupid do you have to be to say something like that, on-air, about anyone? This guy's a certifiable moron.

UPDATE - It's been pointed out in the comments, and in this story, that the racial slur was made accidentally. That has got to be one of the most inopportune slips of the tongue ever made, but the guy shouldn't really be labeled a moron for that, so the language above has been striken from the record. Sorta.

Well, I live in stl, and it's a pretty big local story.
I've listened to the tape, and it's obvious that the guy meant to say "coup". He was talking about what a great thing it would be for Rice to become NFL commissioner.
The station acted so fast to keep Sharpton and his buds out of their lobby. PC cowardice, pure and simple.
The guy was on the local news last night apologizing left and right, and singing Condi's praises.
I'm betting that the grievance industry still finds some reason why the station owes them money for this or some other imagined offense.
It's enough to make a person cynical when it comes to the race industry.

I think now you've got it right.
The guy lost control of his mouth, made a slip of the tongue, and he's getting crucified for it.
I hear today that he got "suspended" from another job today.
Pussies.
