Damned if he does...

NRO's Media Blog has an example of how, in the eyes of some reporters, President Bush is wrong no matter what he does. It's going to be interesting to see how the media act after the Bush presidency, and whether their sloppy, biased and just plain bad reporting during these years will affect their reputation in the future.

I'm hoping with you. Let's keep our fingers crossed that never again will the lapdog press take what comes out of an admin as golden when it smells of bile

never again will we invade a country based upon lies from the president repeated without question by the media

never again will they sit by and let the admin out a CIA agent for purely political gain

Never again will they play along and scare the populace during an election with politically timed 'orange alerts'

Maybe Slu, just maybe, they have woken up and are starting to ask questions of the pres. because they have been lap dogs and now realize this?

Of course not.....they are all biased against the president..ya, sure. Poor, poor George...it's such hard work. Please, your man couldn't live through a tenth of what the 'media' did to Clinton. I guess the right's collective unconscious realizes that.

And Slu, the president was around this time for political reasons....you and I know this....he was just being called on it. Damned if he does? No, damned that he continued with his 5 week vacation during the storm then get all up in the camera's and acts like a leader the next time...it's about giving a shit.....it was obvious during Katrina he didn't.

but again, it's hard, hard work being the president.

Right. The media hasn't challenged Bush at all.

Never. Not once.

/sarcasm.

So you agree the media should challange the president - good for you.

Big difference between 'challange' and 'sloppy', 'biased' and 'bad' - no?

I know - that damned liberal media

I would just like the media to be consistent in its criticism.

It would also be nice for David Gregory to get off my television screen. Something about that guy rubs me the wrong way. He's got crazy eyes.

The media isn't consistant with anything except making money. It has nothing to do with right or left. They saw the war as popular so they were on that wagon. Bush's numbers are in the toilet....now they're off the wagon.

Same as politicians, same as whorish pundits. It's all about the cake.

Slu, save some $ and cancel the cable. It's been two years for me. Does wonders.

Already done. When we move to the new house, it's the basic channels for me.

I'll miss the Food Network, though.

I can top you all, I've been ten years without a TV at all. It is great. I don't miss it one bit, indeed the idea of spending one to three hours a night watching it just seems retarded to me now, there are just so many better ways to spend time. It also has made me more discerning of the TV that I do see elsewhere: its quality is quite poor. Bad plots, lame jokes, and a lot of gratuitous sexual references and violence. It's just not worth the time.
