A Media Creation

So I see Cindy Sheehan was arrested. Hm.

Looks awful happy about it, too.

Hey, attention is attention, right? Personally, I knew Sheehan's celebrity was coming to an end when I read this:

i am watching cnn and it is 100 percent rita...even though it is a little wind and a little rain...it is bad, but there are other things going on in this country today...and in the world!!!!
Yup. It's got to be awful when those cameras go away.

I think you nailed it. Her fifteen minutes was up so she found some way to squeeze anoter couple of seconds out of it.

The right looks foolish to the middle with every stab.

A woman who lost her son for a war based on lies garners so much hate from the right... why? So much hate from christians...why?

The same people who want to send more sons and daughters, well more accurately, other people's sons and daughters, to salvage some form of 'VICTORY'.

why?...because she's right and you have as many answers to her question as the preident.....what was the noble cause?

But the president who lied us in into the mess.........like a pasture at midnight....cricket, cricket.....he's states that he's christian and a good moral man so that's enough for some.

Slu, come on - it's called civil disobedience - that's why she's smiling. The rights venom - that's why she's smiling. The mice are scurring for cover like our president. That's why she's smiling.

More accurately, it's got to be awful that they can't silence her.

Read the Daily Kos entries. She garners quite a bit of hate from the left, too.

This is not a woman the left should be embracing.

of course, people are people. They indulge in hate - it's an evil vice. Although I try, I indulge my hatred for the president. I have become quite comfortable in my stance and find no need to revisit these emotions. I am consistant in my beliefs.

It's actually not 'the left'. It's from Dem party loyalists and American Zionists. Attaching herself to the Palestinian cause will bring down much fire and brimstone from one segment of 'the left'. It has nothing to do with criticism of the war or the admin.

The party has been lap dogs and she is not happy with them. If the Dem party stood up then as opposed to now (read Kerry, Clinton) her son may be alive today.

Hint - the Dem party is not some left wing organization. Fox just wants you to think so. Well actually, they don't want you to think at all.

The only group I belong to is humanity.

re-read The Anchoress - yes, very christian words indeed. Spread in playboy? maybe she's thinking of rove's boy toy Jeff Ganon....(sorry, couldn't help but to indulge).

I don't hate her, and I don't begrudge her her grievances. I do think, though, that the attention she gained went to her head. She's not as important to the war protest movement as she thinks she is, she was media fodder du jour and got dropped as soon as the hurricanes came. She just doesn't strike me as very sophisticated. Tenacious, yes, but not sophisticated, though perhaps she's being taken advantage of by sophisticates with better strategy but less celebrity.

All kind of things have gone to her head. Including her son's death. I think she's gone through many stages and may be emotionally sober for the first time in a while. From the shock and initial need for support (ie: not saying anything to the prez when they met) to grief then anger. I can't imagine what it's like to be her.

I think the opposite. She got attention. They need it - that's why it's all about peaceful protest. She's a symbol. Ask Jung, that's how our brains work. Hey, again, I'm looking at the strenght of her arguement (what noble cause) and what she's lost. She know this (her symbolic value) and so do those who she associates with.

You're thinking in the paradigm that you've been trained. That her media cycle is up. Takes time to plan a protest. It was being organized. She has been around and seeing friends and family. Tired.

She used the system to gain attention. That's how it works when you're fighting a system. So she got herself arrested. The whole drama queen bit is overblown because it suits an opinion. What the thinker thinks the prover will most asuridly prove.

The concept of people working together but not using each other can't be such a foreign concept to you?

But you're a staunch capitalist....the staunch part will do that to ya.

The concept of people working together but not using each other is by no means foreign to me, but this is politics we're talking about and I'm cynical enough about that, regardless of party, to feel reasonable to make that assumption.

It sounds like you're creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their problem in the first place.
