Rafael Parmeiro has tested positive for steroids.
Palmeiro, who recently got his 3,000th career hit [and] was noted for his emotional denial of steroid use before a Congressional panel in March, would be the latest player suspended under the league's new drug policy.
If Shoeless Joe and Pete Rose can be banned for gambling, how can steroids, which ruin the game as much as betting on the outcome, be only a measly 10 day suspension? Raffy's got Hall numbers, but statistics are the easiest thing to lie with. If the steroids don't kill his Hall chances, the hypocrisy should.

I think somebody doped him, just because he did testify. I know, this is just a conspiracy theory. But, the guy does have hall of fame numbers, and considering his age, could retire at any time gracefully. Why risk it?
Somebody slipped a litte extra "juice" into his creatine shake.
Besides, who is doing the steroid testing and how reliable is it? I just saw on the NBC news that a little skinny pitcher from I believe Seattle just got yanked for ten games for a "positive" steroid test.
I think there is something funky with the test.

I think they should run at least two tests before coming to any conclusions. I think they should be hard on steroid users, but shouldn't give a guy a bad name because he took cold medicine or something the night before.
But then again, I don't watch baseball, so I don't have a dog in this fight, so to speak.
