Danby: Still Terrible

The Bangor Daily News editorial page has the cartoonist it deserves. In George Danby's latest creation, Uncle Sam is referred to as "once the champion of human rights."

Har. Har.

Once again, Danby has done what his job requires - he's provided affirmation for those who agree with him while skewing the facts of a particular situation. The United States actually treats its prisoners quite well, despite what Danby or Amnesty International want to believe.

Where was Danby's poison pen when these same prisoners were in charge of Afghanistan? When they were beating women for dressing wrong or killing homosexuals for being gay or lesbian? Where was Danby's concern for human rights when girls were kept from school and public executions were routinely held?

I guess human rights only matter when a Republican president can be criticized.

UPDATE - Michelle Malkin has noticed the same thing among other editorial cartoonists.
