Live-Blogging "Idol"
Okay, here we go again. Shut up, Ryan.
"Constantine is gone." He says that like it's a bad thing.
Two themes. Lieber and Stoller. Any song from this week's billboard. Not bad.
Anthony Federov is first. "Poison Ivy." Ugh. Not a good start. Not really that good a middle, either. Okay, the end was pretty bad, too. "Insipid, amateurish performance" from Simon. Ouch. It hurts because it's true.
"Scotty the body?" What on earth is wrong with Seacrest?
Scott Savol - "On Broadway." This guy is so arrogant. Hate. Him. He doesn't sound as terrible as Anthony, but his days are numbered...oh wait, he just tried to hit a high note. Ugh. People should really know and respect their range. Overall, though, not bad.
Vonzell Solomon - "Treat Me Nice." I love V, but she doesn't sound that good right now. Excellent stage presence, though. This isn't her night for notes, but she did well enough. The judges seem to like it.
Bo Bice - "Stand By Me." Wow. He's nailing this one. Perfect song pick. Best performance of the night thus far.
Carrie Underwood - "Trouble." Taking on the King. She's picked up Bo's performance tip - swing the mic stand around and try to hit Paula. Her vocals are good, but the song is not one of my favorites.
Next up...this week's billboard. Uh, oh.
Anthony II - I don't recognize the song, but it's a ballad. AFed's strengths are ballads, but his voice is very weak tonight. I think he's going home. Yup, that was pretty terrible. Pack your bags, Anthony.
Scott II - I hate oversinging. Just sing the dang notes. Because when you play, you sing flat. Like Scott is singing right now. Not bad, but not very good either. So, do Scott's fans actually appreciate his arrogance?
Vonzell II - Vonzell is cool. She's a bit flat on this one, though. And what are these songs? Okay, halfway through the song she's improving a bit. Given how awful AFed and Scott (in his second song) were, I think Vonzell is safe.
Except Idol voters are stupid...hm...
Bo II - The first song I recognize. Picking a familiar song is going to help him, I think, because his vocals aren't as strong on this one. Still pretty good, though. Wow. Strong praise from Simon. Bo's safe, I think.
Carrie II - Country? I have no idea what this song is. But her vocals are strong tonight. Good performance.

Worst: Anthony
Who Should Go Home: Scott, just on general principles.
Who Will Go Home: Anthony, because he was pretty terrible tonight.
